Product standard
For 304 stainless steel, the Ni element in its composition is very important, which directly determines the corrosion resistance and value of 304 stainless steel.
The most important elements in 304 are Ni and Cr, but they are not limited to these two elements. Specific requirements are specified by product standards. According to the common judgment in the industry, as long as the Ni content is greater than 8% and the Cr content is greater than 18%, it can be considered as 304 stainless steel. This is why this type of stainless steel is called 18/8 stainless steel in the industry. In fact, the relevant product standards have very clear provisions for 304, and these product standards have some differences for different shapes of stainless steel. 316 stainless steel
Characteristics: Due to the addition of Mo, its corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength are particularly good, and can be used under harsh conditions; Excellent work hardening (non magnetic); Excellent high-temperature strength; No magnetism in solution state; Cold rolled products have good gloss and beautiful appearance; Compared with 304 stainless steel, the price is higher.
Due to the addition of Mo element, the corrosion resistance and high temperature strength of 316 stainless steel have been greatly improved, and the high temperature resistance can reach 1200-1300 ºC, which can be used under harsh conditions.
